Wiki Markup Crash Course

Some basic wiki markup tricks, click edit on this page to see the source:

  • Bullet points are written by placing an asterisk at the front of a line of text.
  1. Numbered points are written by placing a number at the front of a line of text.
A line can be indented by placing a colon at the beggining.
A quotation is created by starting a line with a space.

A word can appear in bold by placing three apostrophes on either side.

A word can appear in italics by placing two apostrophes on either side.

[edit] A heading is written by placing two equals signs on either side of a title as in "==New Section Title=="

[edit] A sub heading is written by placing three equals signs on either side of a title, as in "===New Sub Section Title==="

A link to a page within the wiki is written by surrounding the page title by two sets of brackets as in [[Link]]. You can give the link a description by placing the description after the seperator character |

An external link is created by surrounding a URL by single brackets as in [http://www.hasselhoff.com]. You can give the URL a description by writing the description after a space right after the URL
